aims & outcomes

Our overall aim is to: Improve outcomes for children in Scotland to ensure the best start in life by providing support to Dads and families.

We do this through:

Dad Groups - Weekly groups for Dads/male carers and Children (0-5yrs).

Outcomes - Dads and children develop closer relationships. Dads and children have fun.

Parenting Workshops - Monthly workshops for all Dads.

Outcomes - Dads recognise the importance of their role. Parents learn new skills to provide better care for their children.

Young Dads - 1:1 support for vulnerable Dads aged 25 and under.

Outcomes - Gives Young Men the skills and confidence to enjoy the experience of being a Dad.

P.S. Dads Rock - Peer support service for New Dads.

Outcomes - Dads with perinatal mental health issues feel supported, less isolated and more able to care for and bond with their baby.

championing dads

We are part of the social change that needs to happen.

  • We attend conferences to talk about the importance of fathers, and to talk about the small steps organisations can take that will make a difference.

  • We feed into local and national policy on parenting.

  • We have contributed to national policy making, by being members of The Scottish Government's National Father's Advisory Board, as well as the Scottish Parliament Cross Party on Shared Parenting.

  • We need societal change for the sake of our children, but also for the sake of all our Dads, we want all of our Dads to feel supported and valued.

  • We are members of the following organisations: EVOC, GCVS, SCVO, LAYC and Youth Scotland.

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

At Dads Rock we believe every parent and child has equal rights. We value and embrace Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all that we do for the people who need us, and the people who enable us to do our vital work.

We have always strived to reach every family who needs us. We are here, on an equal basis, for all families in whatever shape they come, across Scotland and beyond. We welcome ALL Dads/Male carers from families of all shapes and sizes, any nationality and including gay, trans and non-binary Dads at our groups and activities.
