We advocate for Young Dads (aged 30 or under) and help them build resilience and disrupt the cycle of adversity and trauma.

We work alongside Young Dads and their families in Edinburgh and Glasgow (any young dad with an EH or G postcode)

There are around 800 teenage Dads in Glasgow and 550 in Edinburgh every year yet we are one of only a handful of organisations that directly support them. Our aim is to give the young men the skills and confidence to enjoy the experience of being a father.

Our experience working with Young Dads has shown us that each young man has different skills and needs. For this reason, we provide a program tailored to the individual. First, we get to know the man and his situation, then develop a program with them to build their confidence and range of skills.

The sort of areas we cover may include looking after their own physical and mental health, feeding babies and young children, looking after babies and toddlers, help with how and why they should play with their children, economic management, being an organised Dad, and how to seek help. For some this will all be new and we can help them to cope with an enormous change in their lives, others may already have such understanding but want help in other ways.
