Edinburgh Dads and Baby Group

Are you a New Dad or dad to be in Edinburgh?

Dads Rock are delighted to be launching their Edinburgh Dads and Baby Group, beginning on Tuesday 30th April! Come along every Tuesday from 6:30-7:30pm at Gorgie Memorial Hall. This is the perfect opportunity to meet other Dads, grab a cuppa and hang out with your wee one. This group is open to all Dads with children under one years old.

We understand the importance of creating bonds with both your babies and other parents early on. Did you know that 20% of dads say that their friendships have decreased in the 12 months of becoming a  father? (Movember, 2019). Over 14% of fathers say their mental health has declined significantly during the perinatal stage, and so it is important in this pivotal time to get dads meeting with each other, discussing issues, and building friendships and connections.

We understand the challenges of becoming a new Dad and how life-changing an event this is. It throws up all sorts of questions and makes you think about what kind of parent you could be. It can be both physically and emotionally draining, especially in the early years.

Dads Rock is here to support and inspire Dads to have the strongest relationships with their children that they can. The Dads and Baby group is the perfect way to meet other Dads and build connections and friendships. This group is funded by the Edinburgh Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund

Our Family Worker Greg will also be on hand to help. As well as being a dad of two,  Greg has been working with us since 2019 and works with our Young Dads. He also delivers various playgroups and workshops, gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience along the way. Whether it's sharing your parenting worries, looking for some advice on your mental health, or any other parenting queries, Greg is on hand to share his tips and advice.

We would love it if you could pop along with your wee one and join us for a cuppa and a chat! You can find out further information about our Dads and Baby group, and sign up here.
