Father’s Day Takeover
Fathers Day this year is on Sunday the 15th of June, and you can expect a weekend jam-packed with celebrations and activities for the whole family.
Saturday 14th June
Glasgow - Glasgow Dads and families can join us at Calder Glen country Park and Zoo at 10.30am. Sign up: GlasgowTakeover
North Ayrshire - In North Ayrshire come on a day trip to the Isle of Arran. Dads and their families can join us in Ardrossan where we will get the ferry over to Arran. Sign up: NATakeover
Dundee - Dundee dads and families can join us on a special trip to the Fire Station on Blackness Road. We’ll have a tour around the station and a chance to meet some local firefighters. Sign up: DundeeTakeover
Sunday 15th June

Dad Strike!
On Wednesday 11 June at 3pm, we are gathering outside the Scottish Parliament in support of the Dad Strike, a national protest calling for better, fairer paternity leave. Organised by The Dad Shift, the strike highlights the urgent need for substantial, affordable, and equal paternity policies, as current UK laws offer just two weeks’ leave paid below minimum wage. Take the afternoon off work and join us to help our message be heard. And if you aren’t able to make it in person you can make a point of picking up your kids from school that day. Groups
If you are wanting to spend some quality time with your wee one(s) and chat with some other local dads, our groups are the place for you.
Most groups run every week but it’s always worth checking the calendar to make sure it’s on - no groups are running on 14/15th June as we’ll be on our Father’s Day Takeover events.
North Ayrshire: In North Ayrshire we have weekly groups for Dads and their children in Irvine on Sundays at 10.30am and the Three Towns Dads Group is on Wednesdays at 6.30pm.
Glasgow: In Glasgow we have a playgroup on every Saturday at 10am in Maryhill.
Edinburgh: In Edinburgh we run playgroups every Saturday and Sunday at 10am as well as our Tuesday group at 6.30pm in which we will be continuing ‘Dishes with Dad’ - bringing dads together to cook and eat together! (You’ll need to contact Greg on 07590106889 if you want to come)
Dundee: We are working on setting up some Dundee groups, so stay posted and follow our social media for updates.

Workshops
We run free workshops regularly in our different locations across Scotland. There are a range of topics that we cover and this month we will be running:
Raising Children with Confidence – Our Raising Children with Confidence 6 week course supports parents to build their children’s resilience and emotional wellbeing. You need to attend all six dates to complete the course. Join us online on Wednesdays at 7pm starting on the 4th of June. Sign up here: RCWC

Dads Antenatal Workshop – Our Dads Antenatal workshops are here to support dads-to-be with practical skills, support and a space to ask any questions. You can find us in Glasgow on the 10th of June and in Edinburgh on the 17th of June. Sign up here: Glasgow Edinburgh
First Aid Workshop – Our First Aid workshops are open to all parents and carers, and have a focus on first aid for babies and toddlers. May Round-up
May was pretty a-may-zing. (sorry!)
We wrapped up our Robbie Williams Raffle. A huge thanks to everyone who bought tickets, we managed to raise over £300, and congratulations to the lucky winner!
Some of our supporters took on big challenges this month 🙌 Rob and Ash reached new heights by abseiling off of the world’s tallest whisky distillery to raise money for Dads Rock. And multiple dads went the distance for us in the Edinburgh Marathon Festival, well done to Thomas, Steven, Murray, Arran and Jamie.
We kicked off our brand new Dishes With Dad group on Tuesdays in Edinburgh. This group brought dads together to cook, eat and chill out and will continue into June, so text Greg on 07590106889 to put your name down if you’re interested in coming along.
In Dundee we ran our first Dundee Dads Antenatal Workshop, and are excited to continue meeting dads and building community ties in Dundee.
