Our Father's Day Takeover!

Father's Day is a time to celebrate the dads and father figures in our lives, and what better way to do that than with a fun-filled picnic? This year, we hosted our annual Father's Day Takeover with a picnic at Saughton park, and it was a blast. We had games, hula hooping, and many families joined us for a good old picnic!

The games were run by Greg, one of our family workers. He had a variety of games planned, including Ollie Ollie Octopus and Hungry Hippos. The kids had a great time running around and playing, and the dads got to enjoy some friendly competition.

In between games, we had a hula hooping demonstration by Kat Borrowdale from The Fringe Association. Kat is a professional hula hooper, and she showed us some amazing tricks. The kids were amazed, and we were all impressed!

It was a great way to celebrate Father's Day. The weather was perfect, the company was great, and we all had a lot of fun.

Here are some tips for planning your own summer picnic:

  • Choose a location that is kid-friendly and has plenty of space to run around.

  • Plan some games and activities that everyone will enjoy.

  • Pack a picnic lunch that is both delicious and easy to eat.

  • Don't forget the drinks! Stay hydrated especially in the sun.

We hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day!
